Women's 1500 Prelims

Thursday, June 9, 2011

Heat 1- The winner was Renee Tomlin of Georgetown in 4:18.34, with Lucy Van Dalen of Stony Brook in second, freshman Cory McGee of Florida in third, Kate Van Buskirk of Duke in fourth, and Hannah Brooks of FSU in in fifth.
Heat 2- Morgan Gay of Virginia ran a 4:14.72 to win, with the two Oregon runners Becca Friday and Jordan Hasay in second and third, Sheila Reid of Villanova in fourth and Kristen Gillespie of Arkansas in fifth rounding out the auto-qualifiers. The two time qualifiers were from heat 2 in Lea Wallace of Sacramento St., the only woman to compete in the 800 and 1500 and she made both finals, and Georgetown runner Rachel Schneider.

The race is going to be between Hasay and Reid, but Wallace could be a factor depending on how she fels after the 800 finals.
