This race featured the world record holder Usain Bolt. From the start Bolt was in control of the race. Over the first 50 meters Bolt already made up the stagger on countryman Mario Forsythe to his outside. Bolt finished with a world leading time of 19.86 in rainy conditions. Jaysuma Saidy Ndure of Norway finished in second in 20.43.
