Christophe Lemaitre ran a 9.95 to win, breaking his own French record. Ana Rogowska of Poland won the Pole Vault in a wrld leading 4.75m, Silke Spiegelburg of Germany also cleared 4.75m but lost on misses. David Greene the defending European Champion won the 400 hurdles in a time of 49.21. Véronique Mang of France on the women's 100 in a championship record of 11.23. Russian Maksim Dyldin won the men's 400 in a seasons best 45.82. The Women's 400 hurdles was won by Zuzana Hejnová of the Czech Republic in a new national record of 53.87.
