Day 2 Update

The semis for both the Women's 100 and 100 hurdles just finished and again there were no real surprises.

In the hurdles Kellie Wells won the first heat with Ginnie Crawford in second getting the other automatic place to the final. In the second heat Christina Manning won with Lolo Jones right behind her in second. in the third heat Dawn Harper ran the fastest time of all the final qualifiers with a 12.65 with Brianna Rollins in second. The next two that made it on time both came out of the second heat with Michelle Perry running a 12.80 and Nia Ali running a 12.84.

In the 100 Tianna Madison ran a new PR of 10.96 to take the third heat with the fastest time. Carmelita Jeter won the first heat with Allyson Felix in second. the second heat was won by Alex Anderson with Bianca Knight in second. and behind Madison English Gardner and Jeneba Tarmoh both ran 11.10 with gardner getting the automatic qualifying spot to the finals. Tarmoh made the finals on time along with Lauryn Williams.

In the decathlon Ashton Eaton has a healthy lead and looks to challenge the world record. Brian Clay was DQ'ed during the 110 hurdles for pushing a hurdle down. he still continued to compete even though he will not make the team.
